Gotta Do What Ya Gotta Do!

Well this weekend my sweet friend Diana and I decided to do a garage sale! We are going to New York in a few weeks with a few other of our friends and I really wanted LOTS of shopping money. So I thought I would de-junk my house and spend the day hanging out with a friend drinking Diet Coke and listening to Hairpray Soundtrack and make money doing it! Sounds great right? Well it was great! we had a fabulous time and made great $$$$$. I was actually shocked , I myself made over $500 dollars. Can you believe it? So we decided to do it again with the left over stuff this next Friday. So my advice to all you girls, de-junk your house, have a girlfriend over, drink some diet coke and you will get paid for it! Thanks D for a great weekend, you are a GREAT friend, one whom I admire alot!

That is impressive! I've never done a yard sale because it sounds like a pain in the you know what! You've inspired me! You make it sound almost fun. Actually I think that spending the $500 is the fun part, right?

That is awesome, I wish that I could have a garage sale, but all of our stuff is STILL in storage 4 years later. Well maybe when we move I can actually have one. Have fun shopping with that money!!!

That's awesome! I think the last garage sale I had, I made about $30 is all. It was sad. I don't really keep things....I should start though. How fun to go to NYC with friends! wish I lived closer so I could barge in!!

I think you have inspired all of us to do a garage sale. maybe I'll do that instead of ebay! What on earth did you sell though?

Tausha- I sold LOTS of kids clothes, decorations that I was tired of, toys, books, flower vases, baby stuff, I made the most off clothes and baby stuff, printers, old Halloween costumes that I collected from Costco, the really nice animal ones. I had a ton of them for my kids to play in and I sold them for $5 each...just go through all your closets, basement, garage and you will be surprised!

Way to go on the garage sale! I don't know how you guys withstood the HEAT! Man, it was hot.

Mrs. Dub commented on your blog! You are practically famous now!

It was actually pretty fun, believe it or not! I keep getting flack from a friend in AZ. But I think you put it best...a good friend, diet coke, and Hairspray...oh and let's not forget THE MONEY! You rock at garage sales. I would have been more like Tara, if I didn't have you. I practically gave stuff away, until you helped me see the garage sale way. Thanks Ame...that was fun. Here goes to another Friday!

Thanks Amy!
I'll check it out! I have heard of it, but wondered if anyone had ever used it and had any luck or if it was just a crock! So as the mother of three girls, let me ask...do you want a boy? (Or wish you had had a boy if you're done?)

Just curious because I think I'd want a boy if I had all girls first. So it's not that I'm partial to girls and prejudice against boys. I just want at least one of each.

Why am I still typing?
Sorry!
Thanks for the comment!

P.S. Mrs. Dub is coming to my house for Thanksgiving. How cool am I?
